BRANDY SNAPS
At the Battle of Waterloo the French Emperor had with him several cases of his beloved cognac, but to his dismay a British cannonball scored a direct hit on his supply carriage, breaking the precious bottles.
The morale-sapping blow was reported at once in a signal to the Duke of Wellington: "Emperor's Napoleon blown apart".
