Norse load

NORSE LOAD

The young Viking woman was very sad when she heard her husband had been killed during a raiding expedition to Britain, but being a strong personality she resolved to remarry, have children and get on with her life.

She had always found a good friend of her deceased husband to be quite attractive and he happened to share the same first name, so she thought he would be ideal as she would never offend him if she forgetfully used her first husband's name.

The day of the wedding there was great festivity and many a horn of ale and mead was consumed, especially by the bridegroom, who finally fell flat on his face in front of all the guests.

His bride did her best to pick him up but he was too heavy for her, so she tried just to roll him over. Even this proved difficult, however, so she called for help, only to find that the other guests were too drunk to be of any use.

Desperate, she looked around and saw a youngish lad who looked fit and clearly hadn't been drinking. "Could you give me a hand please?", she asked.

"Sure," he said. "What's the problem?"

"It's my husband here. I'm trying to turn over a new Leif."
