SORE POINT
The experienced gardener was enjoying showing off his knowledge to a young couple at the local allotment, where they had just rented their first plot.
"The lady here has some splendid vegetables, don't you think? Look at the Phaseolus coccineus and those lovely Phaseolus vulgaris over there... Hmm, but I'm not sure I like the look of her Pisum sativum - some disease there, best not touch."
"You mean her peas?"
"Good Lord no, just a touch of mildew, I think."
