The right stuff

THE RIGHT STUFF

On December 17, 1903, a small crowd gathered to watch the momentous first powered flight in history. Although the contraption covered only 120 feet and was barely off the ground, it had undeniably achieved true flight. After landing a different pilot got into the machine and this time flew a little further. Then two more flights were made, each longer than the previous, and each time with the pilots changing over.

"Remarkable," said one bystander. "Someone mentioned they are brothers. Is that correct?".

"Two Wright they are," said another.
