LEAN TIMES?
I've been visiting Russia for decades, even when it was still the Soviet Union. People say the shops were empty in those days, but although some things were often missing you could always count on finding plenty of hearty sausage and especially some lovely bacon cuts.
I guess that's what inspired the famous Beatles' song: 'Back in the USSR'.
